After Kenzo Takada in Mauritius and Christian Lacroix in Bangkok, Karl Lagerfeld signs the third hotel along with Isabelle Miaja, a Singapore-based, French interior designer. Located on one of Singapore’s most prestigious avenues, the 5-star hotel conserves the neo-classic facade of a 1927 building with its adjoining structures and adds a new five-floor wing. The standard “So Cosy” rooms mix classic and modern wall decors under three-meter high ceilings topped by a cupola. The colors and sumptuous materials evoke refined Parisian apartments plus add a few decadent, 18th century overtones. Decorative touches that appeal to a Singapore aesthetic like orchids – the national flower – are depicted in a modern way on the headboards. A trendy French-Asian style luxury.
